Happy 2011!    Each new year is a time to reflect back on the important events of the past year and to look forward to the exciting year ahead.   It’s a time to reflect on changes we need and/or want to make and promise this year….. is going to be better than the rest!!

Rather than trying to make drastic changes in your life, this year set some goals and make some resolutions you can stick to and engaged some friends to hold you accountable.  Pick a friend or trusted adviser for each goal or resolution you set this year and ask them to hold you accountable.  If you can find someone who excels in the area you are trying to improve on, even better!  Be proactive and write down your resolution(s) right now if you haven’t done so already and think of someone to hold you accountable for each one.  Contact them in the next 24 hours and get the ball rolling.   Write them a quick note and tell them about your goals for the year ahead.   Go for it, what have you got to lose (well, except the obvious, which is another year of your life).  If I can help hold any of your accountable let me know, I’m happy to help in any way I can!  YES!

Here are the top 10 most common resolutions people make.

  1. Spend more time with family and friends
  2. Get in shape, exercise regularly
  3. Lose weight
  4. Stop smoking
  5. Enjoy life more
  6. Quit drinking
  7. Get out of debt
  8. Learn something new
  9. Help others
  10. Get organized

Did you make a resolution for 2011?  Do you see it on the list above?

Happy 2011 to you too! This is the 1st year that I have not done resolutions, and you wanna know why? Because of you! Yes, YOU Joe already have me doing them year round. YOU have me posting my weekly goals on my fridge every week, crossing them off with a YES! YOU had me start a “50 life goal” list (scary that I only had 11). And YOU have me cap my “to do list” every day at 6 things so I don’t get overwhelmed, and yet I feel accomplishment. YES!
So who needs 1 annual list of resolutions? I have weekly, attainable ones instead. And I am flying thanks to you!
P.S. Wanna know the one goal that I always most strived for but never, ever, ever achieved? To see a movie every month – in the theatre. Funny huh?

Thank you. This is absolutely inspiring. About No. 6 – I am not a drinker but because the doctor said a glass of red wine at bed time is beneficial – I bought a bottle of wine but forget to drink from it nightly.
