We all have a lot to be thankful for! If you’re reading this online you are the 1 person out of 100 world-wide who even has access to a computer.

At this moment I am thankful I have a smart phone to write this blog post on because my internet is spotty tonight.

Given that I’m going to keep this brief.

What am I most thankful for?
-My loving family and keeping in touch with most of them on a daily basis
-My friends especially those I have weekly phone calls with and/or see on a regular basis (the regularity expresses how thankful we are to be friends with one another).
-Good health (mental and physical). Health could always be worse so focus on what you’ve got going for you to be thankful for.
-The mistakes I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned. Without which I would not be who I am today.

What are the best and most unique ways you have to show people you are thankful?

I try and make it a point verbally express my gratitude by saying “thank you” and doing little things for people to let them know I care. I also try and give “thoughtful gifts” and just recently had my friend Kirta who I don’t see all that often remind me of a “thoughtful gift” I gave a girlfriend 7-8 years ago – proof that if you take a little extra time, people will remember!!

Sending hand written thank you notes to people you meet and those staples in your network is a great way to show people you care and appreciate them.

Another great way to express gratitude is to volunteer or make a charitable gift to an organization that has positively impacted your life or the life of someone you know. Its the action, not the amount of the donation that matters.

In closing, one of my absolute favorite habits is writing in my gratitude journal every night. It helps me have a personal “Thanksgiving” reflection every night of the year and helps me appreciate those who positively impact my life and helps me keep a positive outlook on life. It’s celebrating the little things and showing our appreciation that makes life worth living.

Keep in mind being thankful and showing gratitude doesn’t have to be earth shattering or cost money, something as simple as a smile can make someone’s day.

Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving……..

Ok 11:47pm finished just in time – YES!!!! I’m thankful I finished this before midnight and also thankful I’m going to get four and a half hours of sleep tonight before waking up tomorrow…..because it could always be less than that 8-). YES!!!!!
